High Estrogen Levels

Balancing Hormones, Estrogen and Progesterone

High estrogen levels are common among women experiencing menopause symptoms due to hormone imbalance.

Hormone imbalance is when the estrogen hormone levels are out of balance with the counteracting progesterone hormone levels.

The following are ways to bring back estrogen to the appropriate levels.

Natural progesterone to reduce high estrogen levels
Estrogen dominance is the result of hormonal imbalance. Balancing the two hormones estrogen and progesterone is needed to normalize estrogen levels. The amount of estrogen in the body can be used to normalize hormone balance by administering natural progesterone.

Natural progesterone is a cornerstone of estrogen reduction therapy.

Progesterone helps to reduce the risk of ovarian, endometrial and breast cancers.

If you have symptoms of estrogen dominance but have not been diagnosed with estrogen-related cancer, natural progesterone will still be valuable for its cancer prevention properties.

Adjust your diet to reduce high estrogen levels
Studies have shown that the estrogen levels fell in women who switched from a typical high-fat, refined-carbohydrate diet to a low-fat, high-fiber, plant-based diet even though they did not adjust their total calorie intake.
Plants contain over 5,000 known sterols that have progestogenic effects.

Cultures whose eating habits are more wholesome and who exercise more have a far lower incidence of menopausal symptoms because their premenopausal and postmenopausal levels of estrogen do not drop as significantly.

Drink less coffee to reduce high estrogen levels
Studies have shown that drinking more than two cups of coffee a day may increase estrogen levels in women. It could also lead to problems such as endometriosis and breast pain.

Coffee consumption increases estradiol levels. Of the three different forms of estrogen in the body, estradiol is the form that is pro-cancerous.

Having high levels of estrogen for women in such cases can be detrimental as it can lead to breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men.

Detoxify the body to reduce high estrogen levels
Enzymes present in the liver cell help convert toxins into metabolites through a series of chemical reactions. Free radicals produced in excessive amounts can damage the liver cells of body.

The body has a built in protection mechanism and antioxidants to help reduce damage. Vitamin C, vitamin E and natural carotenoids help reduce damage caused by free radicals.

To help prevent free radical overload, a wide variety of anti-oxidants including ascobic acid, lipoic acid, and grape seed extract is needed by the body.

Maintain ideal bodyweight to reduce high estrogen levels
Fat cells increase estrogen production.

Estrone, one of the three main estrogen in your body, is produced in fat cells.

This excessive production of estrone confuses the pituitary gland.

Ovaries in turn don't produce hormone. Progesterone output is lessened setting up an environment for estrogen dominance.

Exercise to reduce high estrogen levels
Studies have shown properly performed exercises have a positive impact on hormonal imbalance from pre-menopause and beyond.
