What causes adrenal fatigue?

The following are the four most common sources that overwhelm the body with fatigue. 

  • Severe states of diseases such as recurring pneumonia, bronchitis or flu, cancer, AIDS, auto-immune and other illnesses.

  • Continual and/or severe environmental stress from toxic chemicals and pollutants in the air, water, clothing or food

  • physical stress such as surgery, addiction, poor nutrition, exhaustion, and injury

  • emotional stress, usually arising from work, relationships, or psychological origins

The adrenal glands are located in the back, near the bottom of the ribs. They sit over the kidneys and are about the size of large grape.

Children that have parents that suffer from adrenal fatigue are more likely to suffer from adrenal gland problems. These children are more sickly, take longer to recover from illnesses, and have less ability to handle stressful situations.

Regular exercise, living a lifestyle consuming good quality food, getting adequate rest, and keeping a healthy mental attitude to the stresses of life go a long way towards keeping the adrenal glands strong and resilient.
